WEST UNION — Four students and the driver escaped serious injury after a North Fayette school bus hit a tractor pulling a manure spreader.
Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies said it happened about 4:20 Thursday afternoon on O Avenue just south of 220th Street, about five miles west of West Union.
Deputies said 50-year-old Caroline Bemiss sideswiped the manure spreader as the tractor driver was trying to turn into a field. Emergency responders took the students and Bemiss to a hospital for evaluation, and parents later too the students home.
The crash still is under investigation.
